DIY Day 3: DIY Folder

You will need:
♡ 1 boring folder
♡ Coloured paper
♡ Scissors
♡ Double sided tape
1. Choose what colour paper you want to use, I have chosen 3 different colours of pink for mine. Once you have your paper, cut the different colours into strips roughly the same size. I have cut 5 strips but it depends on how you want your folder to look.
2. Cut your strips into a zigzag pattern, if you want you could skip the step before and cut the paper into circles and make polka dot pattern or anything you want.
3. Now this is the fiddly bit, take your double sided tape or glue or anything you want to use and apply it to the back of your paper.
4. Then just stick them onto your folder. Easy peasy.
5. Last but not least, use some of your leftover paper to make a label for your folder and write down a subject. Done!

DIY Day 2: DIY iPad Sleeve

You will need:
♡ Thread (I used invisible to make it look neater)
♡ Needle
♡ Pins
♡ A button
♡ Embroidery thread
1. Put your iPad on top of your felt and estimate how much you will need to use, I used two A4 sized pieces of felt and the sizing was perfect! Lay them on top of each other and sew down the two longer sides of the felt and only one of the shorter sides. At this point you could use a sewing machine if you have one, but since I don't I put pins along the fabric to make sure my stitches stayed straight.
2. Once that's all done you want to cut 2 or 3 inches off one piece of the felt to create a flap like this, make sure your iPad fits comfortably and is not poking out the top.
3. Now, with the piece of felt you trimmed, you need to draw a mark where you want your button to go, I measured 12cm approximately, leave about an 1 inch between the edge of the fabric and the mark so there is space for the button.
4. Using a bigger needle, thread you embroidery thread and sew the button onto the fabric where you put your pen mark.
5. This step is optional, but can be really handy for you headphones! Take some of your blue fabric and cut out a pocket sized square and place it where you want it to go. Sew it carefully, make sure you only sew through the pocket and the first layer of purple fabric so you don't sew it shut, it sounds obvious but I nearly did it so I don't know if I'm stupid but just a warning!
I am really happy with how it turned out and it was a lot easier to make than I anticipated,  I even made one for my phone. If you make this DIY, send me a picture, I would love to see how they turned out!

DIY Day 1: DIY Chokers

You will need:
♡ Charms/beads
♡ Black elastic/string
♡ Jewellery clasp

1. Gather up a lot of jewellery that is maybe broken or you just don't wear  any more. Try and find things that have charms on and small beads because these are the things that will look best on a choker.
2. These are the charms I have chosen, now you need to decide how you want your choker to look. I have gone for a hamsa hand charm with some little blue beads and for my other choker I have this arrow charm.

3. Then you need to thread them onto your elastic and then tie a knot at the end of each charm so that they don't slide around when you wear it.
4. Now your going to need some sort of clasp, you can get these at most craft stores. I used this twist clasp and tied the two ends of the necklace to the little rings at the end of the clasp. If you don't have a clasp you can always just tie it.

And you are done!

Homemade Lemonade recipe

In the summer months its always nice to have a nice refreshing drink that you can just pull out of the fridge and enjoy. Now summer wouldn't be summer without lemonade so I am going to share with you a recipe that I have been loving this year. I thought I would make it relatively healthy so you could drink buckets full if you really wanted to (which I did). It's really easy to make and tastes AMAZING!

You will need:
 6 lemons
♡ 1/2 cup honey
♡ 5 cups of water

1. Get your lemons and squeeze the juice into a bowl.
2. Add your honey and 1 cup of water to a pan and bring to a boil.
3. Pour the lemon juice, boiled honey and 4 extra cups of water into a jug.
4. Leave in the fridge for 1 hour and your done!

Bare Minerals Get Started Kit

Last week I went, with my family, to Greece. On the plane ride there they were selling this Bare Minerals 'Get Started Kit', I have never used any Bare minerals products before but I have always wanted to, so I thought what better way to try them out than a started kit.

I was a bit sceptical about the three brushes it came with because the hairs on the brushes looked as if they would be really scratchy on my skin, but when I used them they felt so soft and applied the powder really well. (Full Flawless Face brush, Flawless Face brush, Max Coverage Concealer brush)

Now to the actual products, the coverage is great, I have a lot of redness in my skin so it does a good job at covering that up. It doesn't look like you have makeup on and it definitely doesn't feel like it!  It comes with a lighter colour (mineral veil) a colour more on the tanned side (original) and a bronzer. At the moment I really like the original but I will be trying the mineral veil in the winter, as for the bronzer I think it has a shimmer in it so I don't think that will be great for contour but I will give it a go.

The Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream Review

Every time I go into The Body Shop, I have a sudden urge to buy something. I usually get some sort of product for my body, but this time I wandered over to the makeup section. I have been wanting a light skin product for summer because heavy makeup just sweats of my face, so I was looking for something quick and easy to apply. After spending what must have been an hour, I picked up this All-In-One BB Cream, I have used it a few times since I bought it and I do actually really like it. I got it in the colour 02 because I figured since it's summer my skin will become more tanned especially since I am going on holiday tomorrow. I think I will probably repurchase it in 01 for the winter because I am obsessed with it.

It's comes out of the tube giving you the impression that it's a cream but then, as if by magic,as you start to rub it into your face it turns into a BB Cream. It claims to be colour-adapting and I would agree with that to a certain extent, obviously if your really pale and you use the 03 shade its not going to match up to your skin tone, but the 02 matches mine pretty well.
In terms of coverage I would probably give it a 3 out of 10, but I don't really expect anything more because it feels so light on your skin and it honestly doesn't feel like you are wearing makeup at all. I feel like I should also tell you that it smells so good, I would try and explain it to you but I am not good with explaining smells, to me it just smells like a holiday!
Anyways I just felt like doing a short blog post today, I hope you don't mind. As usual if you have any questions just ask and I will try and answer. Have a nice day!

My Cupcake Recipe

At the weekend my parents had some friends over for an afternoon tea sort thing, we made little finger sandwiches and had tea in china cups, it was all very fancy, until my mum spilt boiling hot coffee on her leg and had to sit in the sink for twenty minutes to treat her scald, but lets not go into that (She was okay, don't worry). Basically I thought it would be a good idea to make some cupcakes for the tea party, I made up the ingredients as I went along, but they seemed to go down very well, so I thought I would share with you the recipe.

Ingredients

♡ 230g/8oz self-raising flour
♡ 230g/80z butter
♡ 230g/8oz caster sugar
♡ 2 eggs
♡ 2 tablespoons of milk
 Buttercream
♡ 350g/12oz icing sugar
♡ 270g/6oz unsalted butter
Makes 24

1.  Preheat the oven to 190C/375F/Gas mark 5 and put 24 cupcake cases in baking trays.
(The pink and blue cupcake cases I used are from Avon)

 2.  Add in the flour, sugar, butter, eggs and milk and mix them all together until it is a smooth consistency.

3.  The you will want to fill the cake cases with the mixture so they are about half to three quarters of the way full.

4.  Once they come out  of the  oven they should be golden on the top and spongy to touch, put them on a cooling rack to cool.

5.  Now for the fun part, mix the icing sugar and unsalted butter in a bowl. I find it is best to whisk the buttercream so its extra light and fluffy! Use any piping kit you have to pipe the buttercream onto the cakes, if you don't have a piper you can use a spoon to spread the buttercream, it still looks yummy.

 6.  This step is optional, I have this icing press that makes the icing look like little flowers. I am subscribed to the something sweet magazine and this came with an issue one week, but you can get them at many other places. (e.g. link) You just use the ready to roll icing and the little cutter that comes with the press.

7.  Decorate your cakes with whatever you want, I went for little sugar butterflies and on some of my other cakes I used wafer daises. Different coloured icing would be cool, so you could  experiment with that if you want to.

Now your done! Hope you enjoyed this blog post, remember you can always leave a comment if you have any questions!

My Daily Skin Routine

♡ Simple Kind to Skin Refreshing Facial Wash Gel

This is the first step I do every morning and night, I wash my face with warm water and then apply some of  my Simple kind to skin refreshing facial wash gel. I rub that  into my skin until it foams and then I wash it all off with more warm water. This usually takes all my makeup off but sometimes I will have to use some sort of makeup remover.

♡ No7 Beautiful Kind Blemish Defence Serum

I have a few blemishes on my skin from when I have had spots in the past and I only started using this about a month ago and I have noticed that they have faded, which is good. It makes my skin feel quite smooth as well and I just apply this after I have dried my face having applied my Simple Facial Wash.

♡ Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser
After my serum has fully dried I put on my moisturiser, I put about the size of a 2p on my hand and then rub that into my skin. It sets quite a nice dewy base for my makeup, its very hydrating and isn't too heavy either.

♡ Avon Conditioning Eye Makeup Remover
On a day to day basis I wear a waterproof mascara, the upside is that it doesn't budge all day but the downside is that it is really difficult to get off. This eye makeup remover is really oily but I think it has to be to remove the product. I just use some cotton wool or a cotton bud to make sure that I have definitely got all of my eye makeup off.

If you have any questions or suggestions for blog posts just pop it in the comments and I will try and do them, all the links for where to get these items are below. Bye!

My Berry Breakfast Smoothie Recipe

♡ 1 strawberry yoghurt
♡ 1/2 a glass of coconut water

4.The last thing I do is put in some ice in and enjoy!

June Favourites ♥

Hi guys, so today I am going to be talking...well writing, about my June favourites, I have been really liking a lot of stuff in June so I am going to share with you a few of them.

The first product I have been loving this month is these two Essie nail polishes, I got them in the colour Figi and Lilacism. It is coming up to summer and I really like the look of pastel colours on your nails, I think I just looks really fresh and summery. I know the Essie nail polishes are quite expensive so some great cheaper alternatives are the Models Own nail polishes or the Barry M nail polishes are also very good, both brands have a range of pastel colours which I always have a sneaky look at whenever I am in boots. Those nail polish are around £4/£5 which I have to say is still slightly pricy but worth it because they are really good nail polishes and are cheaper than the Essie ones!
I struggle a lot with frizz in my hair, I don't have really curly hair but it does have a wave to it and for some reason it is always frizzy. So I have been looking for something to control the frizz for a while. I picked this up and I have had a few tries with it and I am very impressed with the results I have had so far. I am actually using it on my hair at the moment, you are supposed to rub it into your hair when it's dry which surprised me because most hair crèmes you put on when your hair is damp. It just makes my hair very silky and controllable and also when I straighten it, it makes it very sleek. It has avocado oil in it which is supposed to help make your hair grow, which is good because I am trying to grow my hair longer. It is quite oily though so it recommends that you put it on the ends of your hair not on the roots which is kind of annoying because the top of my hair is also frizzy. I definitely think that this is still a really good product and it was £6.

My next favourite is probably one of my favourite favourites if that makes sense, it's basically this iced tea in the flavour green tea and lemon and I really love green tea so when I discovered this I was over the moon! They sell it in Yo Sushi but it's quite expensive I think it was about £3. So I Googled where else they sold this amazing creation that has become a main factor of my life and it said they sold them in Waitrose and I was really happy about this because there is a Waitrose in my town so I could get it whenever I wanted. Every day after school I have walked to Waitrose and got one of these, they are £1.35 in Waitrose which is a way better price than in Yo Sushi price, even though the bottles are bigger in Yo Sushi the price still works out better. Anyway it's really good for you and tastes AMAZING! Even if you don't like green tea, I know a lot of my friends don't like it, it doesn't even taste like green tea, it's just so refreshing and if you are in Yo Sushi or Waitrose, give it a try, it's just so nice, especially in the hot weather.

I have also really been loving this lip gloss/crème thing from Collection. It was my birthday this month and my friend got me this as a part of my birthday present and its just such a nice colour and consistency. It smells like a strawberry milkshake but it doesn't taste of anything which is really good because I would probably just lick it off my lips straight away! The colour I got lasts for ages and I'm sure it would probably last you till the end of the day because I put some
on when she got me my present and it was still on when I got home, I'm pretty sure it temporarily stained my lips which was good! Oh and it is not sticky either.

I went into the Body Shop and I was looking for a present for my friend Hannah and I came across these mini body butters and I thought they were really cute so I got Hannah one and I treated myself to one too! I bought it in the scent Shea and it smells so good and I loved it so much that I went back to the Body Shop on a different day and got the body mist to match. The lady on the till said that I got it half price because I had an advantage card or something so I bought that for £3.25.

I got this set of five mini Eco Tools brushes for school because I hate having to take all my big brushes into school, they take up so much room in my bag. I also got a new makeup bag which is a lot smaller than my other one so I wanted all my school makeup in that bag so I don't have to keep swapping my brushes every morning.

My last favourite is from Paperchase, they were having a massive sale on and I really like all the things in Paperchase but quite a lot of the stuff is really overpriced, so all the stuff I have been wanting to get for ages was actually a reasonable price. So this recipe book was one of my favourite things that I bought, it has loads of different sections from main meals to drinks and I think I am going to make this into a sort of healthy book with different smoothies and healthy baking recipes in it!

Hope you enjoyed my June favourites, if you have any suggestions for other blog posts for me to do please comment down below and I will try to do them. :)
